About Us

SNPA is the voice of local newspaper publishing in Scotland. Comprising 12 member companies, SNPA covers the vast majority of the 120 weekly and bi-weekly, paid-for and free-distribution newspapers throughout Scotland, the Hebrides, Orkney and Shetland.

The organisation is headquartered in Edinburgh, employing a small, dedicated staff, actively supported by individual publisher executives.

The three key areas of activity of the Association are:

• marketing;
• lobbying; and
• sharing best practice.

Nowhere in the British Isles are the weeklies stronger than they are in Scotland.
